Adventures in fiction

...Adventures In Fiction offered me a context, an all-important overview and my own personal map of practical shortcuts. No flannel, no bullshit, no false promises. Most importantly, it enabled me to develop my own internal editor. I can’t thank you enough.

Nurturing talent and passing on skills

Professional development for writers, devised by writers

Adventures in Fiction was established in 2003 by the author and literary consultant Marion Urch. It was the first writer oriented consultancy in Europe and the first to offer a comprehensive mentoring programme. In 2005, we launched the prestigious Apprenticeships in Fiction scheme with the financial assistance of Arts Council England.

We continue to build on a reputation for excellence, integrity and innovation. The Apprenticeships in Fiction scheme remains the market leader in professional development and has an unparalleled success rate.

The reason for our success is simple. Our team of consultants/mentors are all highly skilled mid career writers with a proven commitment to supporting and nurturing new talent. We also regularly work with industry professionals to ensure that we offer the best possible service.

Literary agents regularly approach us. We also have strong personal links with key agencies including MBA Literary Agency, A.M. Heath, Conville Walsh, the Caroline Sheldon Agency, Rupert Heath Literary Agency, Gregory & Co, Rogers Coleridge White, Johnston & Alcock and Andrew Nurnberg Associates.
