The first writer-oriented resource in Europe
Adventures in Fiction provides confidential mentoring and editorial advice.
Adventures in Fiction works with an expanding team of skilled writer-mentors with expertise in genre-specific areas, such as crime and children’s fiction. We also collaborate with a range of associates involved in literature development and promotion, including a number of key literary agents.
Combining a sound understanding of the principles of good fiction with an awareness of the requirements of the marketplace, our programme has been devised to support writers at every stage in their careers. For published writers we can offer a hands-on, experienced and discerning editorial overview ~ for emerging writers, a more practical step-by-step approach.
Adventures in Fiction was established by the author and facilitator Marion Urch in 2003. In 2005, the new Apprenticeships in Fiction scheme was launched with the financial assistance of the Arts Council of England. This is a groundbreaking project to support first time novelists.
...Adventures In Fiction offered me a context, an all-important overview and my own personal map of practical shortcuts. No flannel, no bullshit, no false promises. Most importantly, it enabled me to develop my own internal editor. I can’t thank you enough.
